Some writers use boldface text to emphasize a point, like this:
blah blah blah the meeting will be on Tuesday at 3 pm. Blah blah blah
They do this because after writing several paragraphs of unimportant filler, they notice the main point is hidden, so they make it bold.
A better solution would be to delete the filler:
blah blah blahThe meeting will be on Tuesday at 3 pm.Blah blah blah
Rapid forms of communication (email, slides, SMS, ...) should only contain important text.
